Chew your food until it feels like paste. This usually means chewing 40 times - because there's no teeth in your stomach. While it's great to drink a lot of water 30 minutes before a meal, try to avoid drinking lots of liquids during meal time to keep your digestive system working hard (and burning calories) while it processes your food. Also best to steer clear of alcohol and caffeine near meals.

The benefits of this recipe are endless. It helps promote an excellent nights sleep, cleanses the blood, addresses digestive issues, it's an anti-inflammatory and helps to protect against a number of cancers.
Best way to cook beans, seeds and grains
Soak beans in a bowl of warm filtered water with 1-2 Tbsp of lemon juice or apple cider vinegar. Cover and set aside for 12 hours before. Soaking, sprouting and fermenting can help to make all beans, nuts, seeds, and grains easier to digest.
When your ready to cook, give it a good rinse, add them to a pot so that they are just covered with filtered water. Adding a strip of kombu seaweed or 2 bay leafs will reduces any smelly gas, bloating or abdominal pain. We all know the song 'beans bean’s their good for the heart the more you eat the more you fart'... while charming as a lyric, we don't want to live that reality.
Bring to a boil, then reduce the the heat to low and let simmer. Cook until tender, skimming off the foam (again to help reduce intestinal bloating). Add salt, drain and remove seaweed or bay leaf. Eat them within 2 to 3 days.
